WWII GERMAN MEDICAL OBERST SHOULDER BOARD & COLLAR TAB SET

Description

Here we have an extremely fine World War II German pair of collar tabs and shoulder boards for an Oberst in the Army Medical Corps that are in excellent condition. The collar tabs are hand embroidered in heavy metallic silver bullion thread on a fine dark green wool backing. Each silver bar is with dark blue litzen indicating service in the Medical Corps. The shoulder boards are the sew-in type with silver Russian braid on a dark blue woolen base. There are two gold rank pips affixed to the braid indicating the rank of Oberst. Between the pips on each board is a gilt metal caduceus. The edges of the boards display signs of where they were once sewn into the shoulder of a uniform. Both pieces are without moth damage and remain in excellent condition.
